Reasons to Exercise for Weight Loss

Blog

The key to losing weight is burning more calories than you take in when you eat. You can technically lose weight without exercising if you simply eat fewer calories than you use per day. So why do so many experts recommend that you use exercise in addition to eating better to lose weight?

Here are five reasons why you should incorporate exercise into your weight loss process:

1. Sedentary Lifestyles Are Unhealthy

It's never good to sit around all day, whether you're trying to lose weight or not. Your body should be active, so if you don't walk, jog, or do other exercises, you're putting it in an unnatural state. There's a link between a sedentary lifestyle and premature death, obesity, heart disease, mental health issues, cancer, and diabetes.

2. Diet May Not Be Enough

Many people who want to lose weight are used to eating a particular number of calories daily. Even if you try to limit that amount, you may not get to a low enough number to trigger weight loss. If you were to include working out into the process, you might be able to burn enough calories each day to start losing weight.

3. Allows You to Eat More

What if you could eat more food every day and still lose weight? If you burn a lot of calories through exercise, you may be far below the number of calories your body burns. Remember, weight loss is all about the ratio between daily burned calories and your daily caloric intake, so if you burn enough calories to create a large deficit, you get to eat more food.

4. It's Good for Your Mental Health

Exercising is good for anyone trying to lose weight and even for those who aren't, due to how it's good for your mental health. Mental health issues play a significant role in many people's struggle to lose weight, so if you can improve yours through exercise, you may have a better chance of succeeding.

5. Build Muscle

One aspect of weight loss that many people don't consider is muscle mass. If you have more muscle, you won't have to lose as much weight to look and feel healthier. You can increase your muscle mass by doing certain types of exercises, like weight lifting, and it will make your weight loss journey a little easier and give you some helpful confidence along the way.

Talking About Learning To Love Exercise

Hello, I’m Gene. Welcome to my website about exercise. While I was growing up, I viewed exercise as an unnecessary way to torture myself. I did not have the confidence required to see that I had the ability to perform exercises with the best of them. Through the years, I have learned to love exercise by slowly ramping up my activity levels. I always switch up my exercise routines to avoid growing bored with the activities. I hope to use this site to help other people learn to love exercise as well. Please feel free to visit my site often to learn all you can about this important topic.
